Andrew Baturo was born in 1965, in the city of Pokrovsk, Russia. As a gifted child prodigy, Baturo was accepted into Children's Art School and graduated with the highest honors in 1981. In 1983 he entered Briansk Art College, and in 1981 he was accepted to the prestigious St. Petersburg Academy of Art.

Since 1994, Baturo has been participating in such significant exhibitions as "Exhibition of St. Petersburg Artists" in Reutilingen, Germany, the group show entitled "Academy" in 1996, and "Teacher's Memory" in 1997. In post- Perestroika Russia these exhibits were turning points when a new found freedom of expression took on totally new dimensions.

In 1999, after graduation, it was no wonder that Baturo was the only Russian artist invited to America to take part in the group exhibit "Bay Art". After this show, Baturo stayed and spent a year in the United States, absorbing what he could of American culture, stating that "this particular year in America gave me more experience as an artist than all 8 years of my formal studies in the best art schools" in Russia. After his year in the States, Baturo returned to Russia to perfect his art. At the same time, his paintings began selling successfully in galleries across Florida, California, Ohio and Arizona. Baturo was also exhibiting in shows and auctions, and becoming quite popular with art collectors in France.

In just a short period of time, Baturo's works are part of corporate and private collections around the globe in countries such as Canada, the United States, England, France, Germany and the Ukraine.
